More Than Enough [God's Provision] Devotions Day 1

When You Feel Like the Least

Devotional
Have you ever felt completely unqualified for what God is asking you to do? Gideon certainly did. When God called him to rescue Israel, his immediate response was essentially, "You've got the wrong guy." He saw himself as the weakest of the weak, the least significant person in an already insignificant family. Sound familiar? Many of us carry this same narrative. We look at our limitations, our past failures, our lack of resources or experience, and wonder how God could possibly use us. But here's what's beautiful about Gideon's story: God didn't choose him despite his weaknesses... He chose him because of his heart for surrender. God doesn't need our résumé to be impressive. He doesn't need us to have it all figured out or to feel confident in our abilities. What He desires is our willingness to trust Him even when we can't see how things will work out. When we feel inadequate, we're actually in the perfect position to experience God's sufficiency. Your feelings of inadequacy aren't disqualifications... they're invitations to depend more fully on God's strength. The very areas where you feel weakest might be exactly where God wants to display His power most clearly. He specializes in using ordinary people to do extraordinary things, not because of who they are, but because of who He is.

Bible Verse
'My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I'm the least in my entire family.' - Judges 6:15

Reflection Question
What area of your life makes you feel most inadequate, and how might God want to use that very weakness to display His strength?

Prayer
Lord, thank You that You don't choose us based on our qualifications but on Your grace. Help me to see my weaknesses not as disqualifications but as opportunities for You to show Your power. Give me the courage to say yes to You even when I feel inadequate. Amen.
