Inside Out [A Righteous Choice] Devotions Day 5

Living From Acceptance

Devotional
Here's the life-changing truth that transforms everything: righteousness is not something you earn; it's something you're declared to have. This isn't just theological jargon; it's the difference between exhaustion and rest, between striving and thriving. When we try to earn God's acceptance through our performance, we're constantly anxious about whether we're doing enough, being good enough, or measuring up. We live in fear of disappointing God and losing His love. But God's love isn't based on our performance; it's based on Jesus' perfect performance on our behalf. Through faith in Christ, God declares us righteous. This isn't because we've earned it, but because Jesus earned it for us. His perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection become ours when we trust in Him. We're no longer trying to earn acceptance; we're living out of acceptance. This transforms how we approach obedience. Instead of following God's commands to earn His love, we follow them as a response to His love. Instead of serving out of obligation, we serve out of gratitude. Instead of living in fear of rejection, we live in the security of being fully known and completely loved. This is why Jesus is the only way; He's the only one who can actually transform us from the inside out, giving us the righteousness we could never achieve on our own.

Bible Verse
'But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.' - Romans 3:21-22

Reflection Question
Are you living to earn God's acceptance, or are you living from the acceptance you already have in Christ?

Quote
You're no longer trying to earn acceptance. You are now living out of acceptance.

Prayer
Thank You, God, for declaring me righteous through Jesus. Help me live from this acceptance rather than trying to earn it through my performance.
