Cornerstone [The Foundation Of God's Living Temple] Devotions Day 1

You Were Never Meant to Be on the Outside

Devotional
Have you ever walked into a room and felt like everyone else got the memo except you? That quiet sense of not quite belonging is something many of us carry, sometimes for years. In Ephesians 2, Paul points to a very real wall in the Temple of Jerusalem. It was called the Soreg, and it physically kept Gentiles from entering the inner courts of worship. Every single day, that wall sent a message: you can come this far, but no further. You do not fully belong here. Then Jesus changed everything. Through His death on the cross, Jesus tore down that barrier completely. Not symbolically. Not eventually. Completely. The people who were once kept at a distance were brought all the way in, with full access to God. That includes you. Whatever has made you feel like an outsider, whether it is your past, your doubts, or simply the feeling that faith is something happening just beyond your reach, Paul wants you to hear this clearly: the barrier is broken. You have access. You are not a guest being tolerated. You belong.

Bible Verse
"So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family." - Ephesians 2:19

Reflection Question
In what area of your faith life do you still act like an outsider, even though Jesus has already given you full access?

Quote
"Maybe you came in here today feeling like an outsider, disconnected, wondering if you really belong. I want you to hear clearly what Paul is saying. The barrier is broken. You have access. You belong. You are part of God’s family."

Prayer
Father, thank You for tearing down every barrier that kept me from You. Help me to stop living like an outsider and to walk fully in the belonging You have already given me. Amen.
