Cornerstone [Living Stones] Devotions Day 1

Built on Something That Lasts

Devotional
Most of us have built our sense of worth on something that eventually shifts. A career. A relationship. Someone else's approval. And when those things crack, we crack with them. But there is a foundation that does not move. Jesus is described in Scripture as the living cornerstone, the fixed point to which everything else is aligned. He is not a distant historical figure. He is alive, active, and present in your life right now. When you place your trust in Him, you are not just adopting a new belief system. You are being built into something. You have a place. You have a purpose. And the One doing the building knows exactly where you fit. You do not have to keep searching for solid ground. In Jesus, you have already found it.

Bible Verse
"Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken." - Isaiah 28:16

Reflection Question
What foundation have you been building your sense of worth on, and how has it held up when life got hard?

Quote
"He is the living cornerstone, not a dead monument. He's not a historical artifact. He is the living cornerstone. The man that they crucified is now alive. And His presence is active, dynamic, and reshaping reality itself."

Prayer
Lord, thank You for being a foundation that never shifts. Help me to stop building my life on things that fade and to root myself fully in You. Amen.
